What does it mean?
Statistical power is the probability of rejecting the null when a specified alternative is true; it equals 1−β. It depends on target effect, sample size, variability, test and alpha.

A study may be planned for 80% power to detect a true two-minute difference. With a smaller true difference, the same design generally has less power.
