What does it mean?
The arithmetic mean is the sum of the values divided by their count. The median is the middle value of an ordered dataset; with an even count, it is the mean of the two middle values.
Think through an example.
For 3, 4, 4, 5 and 34, the mean is 10 and the median is 4. The large extreme value pulls the mean upwards.
